The US position in Iraq is ultimately based on the machinery of violence it's implanted in Iraq, that is the US Armed Forces, Intelligence (the black ops branch), Iraqi Puppet Government, and the Puppet Army.

Currently, all of these are giving indications of an approaching US collapse:

§1. The US Marines, beaten in Al-Anbar cry for help, the Resistance now being stronger than the US in Al-Anbar province. The US fist of operations is no longer adequate to counter the expanded war both in Baghdad and Al-Anbar.

§2. The pioneers of war, the black-ops and torture branch of CIA operatives is searching for immunity by buying legal insurances in case they're sued and charged. No need to explain they've seen the writing on the wall.

§3. The central US Puppet Oil Ministry papers have been once more burned – a frequent indication of approaching "government change". This time it's Al-Maliki's turn.

§4. The US Puppet Army, requiring help from the Shi'ite Militia (of Iranian origin) in their latest counterinsurgency actions, are weaker than Badr Brigades. This gives no hope for the US-installed army in the future.

§5. Allies are losing or disappearing: Besides of well-established (or looming) defeats of Israel and UK, the NATO is losing in Afghanistan and the US Coalition of Willing is crumbling practically each month witnessing of coalition partners deciding to leave Iraq.

The US is unable to improve a situation such as this in the very short period it still has left in Iraq.
