War Taxes and Death in Bushzarro World

As an example just how out of touch our corporate whores and flaming warmongers are, consider Joseph Lieberman. "I think we have to start thinking about a war on terrorism tax," Lieberman said during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Bush’s defense budget. "I mean, people keep saying we’re not asking a sacrifice of anybody but our military in this war and some civilians who are working on it," reports Reuters. Excuse me, Joe. I didn’t sign up for your version of sacrifice, that is to say forever war, ever escalating mass murder (650,000 dead, so far, in Iraq alone), and a planet terminally polluted with depleted uranium and other war-related toxins. As we know, or should know if we pay attention, the "war on terrorism" is a ruse, not even categorized as blowback, as folks over on the so-called left keeping babbling, but an engineered ruse. It’s all about stealing our treasure, not that there is anything left but a massive mountain of debt for our grand children, and with Bush’s latest "budget," debt and misery for their children as well...

War Taxes and Death in Bushzarro World

Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire

February 6, 2007

It’s all about stealing our treasure, not that there is anything left but a massive mountain of debt for our grand children, and with Bush’s latest "budget," debt and misery for their children as well. Call it time travel debt, already threatening the future, that is if we have a future by the time these crooks are finished. In fact, we have nothing to look forward to but an old age of dumpster diving, or at least those of us who ridiculously are called "baby boomers," largely chumps for Joe’s tax, raised by way of manufactured fear and dread.

Joe Lieberman can stick his "war on terrorism tax" where the sun doesn’t shine.

So stupid are we, the government has confidence it can get away with telling the most outrageous lies. Rob Portman, Bush’s "budget" director, told the House Budget Committee "Bush’s plan projects a $61 billion budget surplus in 2012 while assuming only $50 billion in war costs in 2009 and none after that."

Yeah, right. Want to see the national debt beyond the sickly glow of fairy tale? Look at this chart. It began to really skyrocket with the "election" of one of America’s most beloved presidents, Ronald Reagan, up from a mere trillion to around 3 trillion, and then it kept going up and up under Bill "I feel your pain" Clinton, although it actually began to taper off a modest bit, or level out at least, and then went absolutely orbital under Bush II, reaching more than 11 trillion.

Joe is selling you all a truckload of donkey manure. Absolutely all money "collected" (stolen under fear of prison or worse) by the government, no matter the president or political party, is dedicated to "service" this astronomical debt.

"The United States is currently borrowing $665 billion annually from foreign lenders to finance the gap between payments to and receipts from the rest of the world, an amount equivalent to $5,500 per American household," writes L. Josh Bivens for the Economic Policy Institute. "However, these costs have been hidden for the past few years, predominantly by the historically low interest rates, which resulted from the Federal Reserve’s attempts to spur economic recovery after the 2001 recession and from a downturn in domestic investment. This happy scenario will not persist indefinitely, and when interest rates rise, the costs of U.S. borrowing will have serious economic consequences," for instance external debt will rise from 24% of total U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of 2003 to 64% by 2014.

In other words, when the boomers retire—or rather, are too old to work—there will be nothing at the other end of the rainbow but a trash dumpster. It will be a Darwinian struggle, the strongest and fittest of the boomers able to get the best scraps while the weakest starve in the streets. Call it the Katrina Effect, as we can expect at best for the government to do nothing.

Meanwhile, the Great House of Corporate Whores, Democrat side of the aisle, are growling at Bush, dickering over crumbs and irrelevancies.

"House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles ["Draft 'em All"] Rangel said Bush needs to reach out to Democrats if he wants to accomplish a budget that deals with politically explosive issues like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid," as if Democrats care about folks eating cat food in Poughkeepsie. For Democrats, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are political capital, so long as the poor "get out the vote," while the Dems line up for corporate hand-outs.

Cast out of the party, straddling the dung heap between Dems and Repubs stands Joe Lieberman, attempting to make hay out of the scary Freddy Kruger prospect of Osama bin Whatever and his dour CIA founded and coddled henchmen, all of them mentally and emotionally deficient.

Hey, if a bit of Fox News booga booga got you out of the house to the local Builder’s Depot to stock up on ductape and plastic, what’s to say a bit more theater of the grotesque (if not of the absurd) will not get you to ante up for a "terrorism tax"?

But believe me, brother, you ain’t seen terrorism yet.

It will be mighty scary come 2014 and that dumpster with its thin pickings.
