DOHA, ISLAMABAD : Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) Amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman has joined the efforts being made for success of the reconciliatory process for bringing peace in Afghanistan.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman reached Qatar on his two-day visit under track-two diplomacy. He is likely to visit the office of Taliban at Doha on any time.

In an interview here on Saturday, central leader of JUI-F Hafiz Hussain Ahmed revealed that JUI-F chief was invited to participate in the reconciliatory process between US and Taliban.

The reconciliatory process between US and Taliban has begun in Qatar. Taliban has also invited for talks in Pakistan and government should not delay in their regard, he said.

Hafiz Hussain Ahmed urged the government to take advantage of this offer of Taliban, adding that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is engaged in the reconciliatory process initiated here between US and Taliban.

He said that JUI-F Chief has called the important leaders of the JUI-F from other cities of Qatar and has started consultations with them on the issue of possible dialogues between US and Taliban. Sources said that JUI-F chief has also taken the party leaders into confidence in the country regarding JUI-F’s physical participation in the US-Taliban dialogues in Qatar and the party leaders proposed to JUI-F chief to start efforts for success of the reconciliatory process without any delay.

The special spokesman accompanied by Maulana Fazlaur Rehman on his visit to Qatar, told the "SANA" that Maulana Fazlaur Rehman has come to Qatar on four-day party tour and he is holding consultations with the party workers in Qatar. Maulana Fazlaur Rehman’s brother and Member National Assembly Maulana Attaur Rehman also verified that JUI-F is seriously reviewing offer of the government for becoming guarantor on behalf of the Taliban in government-Taliban peace talks.

He said that JUI-F supports the dialogues with the Taliban and government should take this issue seriously, adding that lest the non-seriousness on the part of the government should worsen the situation.
